Dog That Survived Horrific Fire Become S.C. Dept. Mascot

At 3-months-old, the puppy Pitbull was trapped inside a burning building for about eleven minutes. Jake was rescued but badly burned. The puppy was given mouth to mouth before he was rushed off to the vet. The Hanahan, S.C. fire chief along with town leaders decided they were going to make Jake an honorary firefighter and official mascot of the department. Jake now rides in the fire trucks and goes to school assemblies to help firefighters raise safety awareness.
