MA Ambulance Convoy Celebrates EMS Week at Fenway Park

A procession of 50 ambulances—called the Convoy of Champions—traveled from Worcester to Boston's Fenway Park to honor EMS workers.

A parade of 50 ambulances honoring EMS professionals made its way from Worcester’s UMass Medical Center to Fenway Park in Boston on Wednesday afternoon.

Dubbed the “Convoy of Champions” the convoy began at Worcester’s UMass Medical Center and traveled the Mass Pike to reach the warning track of Fenway Park as a salute to EMS professionals during national EMS week.

The convoy was led by state police and included a UMass Medical Life Flight helicopter flying overhead.

Upon reaching Fenway Park, a short speaking program and video tributes from Governor Charlie Baker, Mayor Marty Walsh, Attorney General Maura Healey and others would be played for the ambulance crews, a press release detailed.
