NY FFs Rescue Woman, 3 Dogs from Fire

July 19, 2022
The Islip Fire Department members had just received special canine rescue training when they needed to to perform CPR on the dogs.

Islip Terrace firefighters rescued a 19-year-old woman and her three dogs from a house fire.

"I can't even begin to tell you what you've done for our family," Tara Piniella told the firefighters, CBS2 reported.

"I could hear my dogs crying. I called my daughter and said, 'You need to get out of the house. The house is on fire," she recalled.

The woman was trapped in the basement and firefighters pulled her from the structure.

They returned and then rescued dogs that were unconscious and revived them with special oxygen masks.
