Couple Burned when 'TNT Tacos' Truck Explodes in Carroll County, TN
Despite his injuries, a Carroll County man ran through fire to save his wife after their food truck exploded.
Now, Tim and Tiffany McPherson are facing a long road to recovery after suffering severe burns.
Tim was having trouble lighting the grill in their truck, 'TNT Tacos,' when it exploded from the bottom, their daughter, Jada Pastrana, told WKRN.
The blast knocked Tim near the door while Tiffany was thrown toward the sinks at the opposite end of the trailer.
Tiffany credited her husband with saving her life, writing: "Tim could’ve easily ran out but chose to come back and get me and drag me out. He had to go through the explosion that was hell before busting us both through the door and saving our lives.”
Huntingdon Fire Chief John Fordon said firefighters found the couple rolling around on the ground.
Both are undergoing treatment in Tristar Skyline Medical Center for second- and third-degree burns over 30 percent of their bodies.
The incident was ruled accidental.
