D.C. Fire, EMS Crews Assist Worker Hurt at White House Construction Site
A construction worker was injured on a scaffolding at the White House Monday afternoon.
D.C. Fire and EMS crews climbed a ground ladder to reach and treat him before placing him into a Stokes basket for removal, WUSA9 reported.
The nature of the worker's injury was not released. But, he is expected to survive.
The scaffolding was hidden for weeks, using large tarps that featured images of the White House pillars. It was erected as the North Portico columns underwent standard restoration work, a White House official told reporters in July.
The tarps were being removed as the White House prepares to host China President Xi Jinping.
