9/11 Memorial Plans Eliminated to Be Shown Online
The 5,200 Ground Zero memorial-design entries eliminated by a jury in favor of "Reflecting Absence" will be displayed on the Internet as early as next week.
The 13-member memorial jury made officials at the Lower Manhattan Development Corp. promise that all submissions would be shown to the public.
But officials found that mounting a museum-style exhibit would cost too much and require a huge space.
Officials decided to start with an Internet display - expected to go online next week - and if there is enough public interest, consider mounting a physical exhibit, sources told The Post.
