Group Crisis Intervention (Group CISM)
Hermitage, PA
United States
When firefighters, police officers, emergency medical service personnel, and other emergency responders respond to scenes that are really bad, they sometimes need psychological, emotional and spiritual care that goes beyond one-on-one counselling. Since 1983, that care has been provided via Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), created to enable emergency service personnel (and others) to return to their daily routine more quickly and with less likelihood of developing post-traumatic stress disorder. Group Crisis Intervention introduces the fundamentals of CISM and participants will leave with the knowledge and tools to provide several group crisis interventions: demobilizations, defusings and the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. This class is for chaplains, firefighters, and other emergency responders. Visit www.HermitageFire.com for a registration form and brochure.
