MODESTO, Calif. --
An explosion rocked an east Modesto home Tuesday afternoon.
Neighbors heard several loud blasts at about 3 p.m., then saw flames coming from the two-story home in the 500 block of Blue Canyon Drive.
Firefighters think the two-alarm blaze started in the garage, where someone was working on a Jeep.
"The flames went up. The garage blew up. The glass was breaking out, and the big garage door just blew off. And the flames -- I mean instantly, just instantly the place was up in flames," neighbor Mary Wilkinson said.

Nobody was hurt in the fire, firefighters said, but a FedEx driver coming down the street saw the blaze and ran into the home to see if anyone was inside.
Four poodles survived the fire. One was found in the back yard by a firefighter, the other three were found in the lower part of the house.
All four dogs -- who were wet, sooty and shivering -- are safe.
The house was a complete loss.
