A two-alarm house fire broke out Wednesday morning in Sacramento’s Oak Park neighborhood, triggering explosions and drawing a major response from city fire crews.
The blaze ignited around 11:30 a.m. at a single-story home in the 3200 block of 37th Street, according to Sacramento Fire Department spokesman Capt. Justin Sylvia. Firefighters arrived to find the house engulfed in flames and rocked by explosions.
A second alarm was called shortly after crews arrived, bringing additional engines to the scene. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Wednesday afternoon. Sylvia said the interior of the home was filled with “hoarder conditions,” which made it harder for firefighters to control the flames.
