Arsonist Sought in Seven Maryland Fires

DAMASCUS, Md. -- Montgomery County Fire investigators are trying to determine who's responsible for setting 7 fires early Tuesday morning.

Captain Oscar Garcia with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue tells 9NEWS NOW firefighters first found a burning hay bale in the 23600 block of Kings Valley Drive around 3:30 a.m. Three more hay bales were set on fire on Kings Valley Drive at Mountain View Road, Woodfield School Road, and Watkins Road.

Firefighters also found mailboxes set on fire in the 24200 block of Primula Court, Hawkins Creamery Road at Pocahontas Drive, and the 7400 block of Hawkins Creamery Road.

All seven fires were set near single family homes.

No injuries have been reported.
