Maryland Firefighter Accused in Theft

He allegedly stole a master key to the fire department's office.

CHARLES COUNTY, Md. --

A 17-year-old volunteer firefighter has been accused of stealing money from his department.

The teen allegedly stole more than $3,000 from the Potomac Heights Volunteer Fire Department between December 2007 and April 2 after stealing a master key to gain entry into an office, the Charles County Sheriff's Office said.

The teen has been charged with committing a theft scheme valued at more than $500.
