Investigators said an electrical problem caused a fire that destroyed the Miesse Candies factory in Lancaster.

An electrical short in the ceiling sparked the fire Thursday afternoon. A neighboring business owner, Bob Meshey, spotted the fire and ran to help.
"I ran through the building to try find out who was working. The workers were all the way in the back of the building. They were oblivious the fire was even going on," Meshey said.
Everyone got out safely. Firefighters said melting chocolate was running down the street when they arrived.
The owner of the business, Frank Taylor, was out of town delivering candy when the fire started.
According to officials, there was about $2 million worth of product lost inside the factory, and the building itself sustained about $250,000 worth of damage.
