Virginia Firefighters Battle Flames, Cold

Commuter buses were brought in to keep residents and firefighters warm.

Firefighters battled a two-alarm town home fire in Alexandria, Va., Monday morning.

Fire officials said the fire on Fendall Avenue, near Duke Street, broke out about 5:15 a.m. and quickly went to two alarms.

Officials said the fire has displaced about a half dozen people.

Two Dash commuter buses were brought to the scene to keep firefighters and displaced residents warm.

Officials said the fire started in one town home and then affected some of the surrounding structures.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
