Oakland firefighters are working to control a five-alarm fire that broke out at a warehouse in the 600 block of Hegenberger Road.
Officials said they received reports of minor explosions in the area when the fire began.
The fire, which began at about 10 p.m., spans over a block and a half.
An employee at a nearby Holiday Inn said a Denny's restaurant and a gas station in the area were evacuated.
The fire had not affected the Oakland Airport as of 10:45 p.m.
