The city of Dallas made history within its city limits by naming its new fire chief.
Eddie Burns became the new chief of Dallas Fire-Rescue on Wednesday. He also became the city's first black fire chief.
He takes control of the department April 19.
Burns most recently worked as executive deputy chief of the Fort Worth Fire Department. He was with the Fort Worth department for 27 years.
