Lightning is being blamed for house fires in Tarrant and Denton counties.

The owner of a home on Rosarita in far south Arlington heard a loud boom and immediately called the fire department.

Firefighters doused the attic fire and everyone managed to get out safely.

A lightning strike is being blamed for a fire in Highland Village in Denton County.

An elderly person and a caregiver managed to get out of the home safely. The 3-alarm fire required additional fire trucks from throughout the county.
