SAN ANTONIO --
A house fire on San Antonio's north side claimed the life of one man Tuesday evening.
The fire started about 8:30 p.m. at a home on the 600 block of West Silver Sands Drive west of the airport.
The 55-year-old victim was identified by firefighters, who asked his name be withheld pending further notification of family members. The man's mother escaped the flames with the help of neighbors.
