NEW YORK --

A four-alarm fire broke out late Saturday in a commercial building that houses a construction company and a Korean church.

Firefighters battled the blaze, which started at about 10:46 p.m. The building was empty at the time.

Neighboring communities could feel the sweltering heat emanating from the blaze, and firefighters had to be swapped out and given time to rest.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, which the Bergen County Arson Squad will conduct.

The investigation was on hold until structural engineers could figure out if the building was safe for arson investigators.

No injuries were reported.
