ATLANTA --
Atlanta firefighters are investigating a day care fire at Bolton Road and Donald L. Hollowell Parkway in northwest Atlanta.
Firefighters said a blaze broke out at Herrington Day School, Inc. in the 900 block of Bolton Road shortly before 8:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Two adults and one child were transported to an area hospital.
Witnesses said Sheila Harrington, owner of the day care, ran back into the building to rescue a little boy.
Harrington is listed in fair condition at Grady Hospital.
No word was available on the extent of the injuries of the other victims.
Fire investigators said the fire appears to have started in the basement. Firefighters have not said how many people were inside the day care facility at the time of the fire.
Parts of Bolton Road near Bankhead Highway were closed as a result of the fire.
