18-Wheeler Crashes, Explodes in Texas

Two people were transported by CareFlite to Parkland Hospital in Dallas for burns.

FORT WORTH, Texas --

At least two people are injured after an 18-wheeler crashed and exploded, shutting down all Interstate 35E lanes at Swisher Road near Lake Dallas, officials said.

The crash took place near Swisher Road and I-35E in the Lake Dallas area near Corinth at about 2 p.m. Thursday.

Emergency personnel are at the scene battling the fire. The crash is expected to cause extensive delays during the evening rush hour.

Two people were transported by CareFlite to Parkland Hospital in Dallas for burns. Their condition is not known.

Witnesses said the driver of the tanker truck was able to jump from the cab of before it exploded.

It is not yet known what caused the crash.
