The Colebrook fire chief accused of using the Internet to solicit sex from a minor appeared before a judge Tuesday morning at Hartford Superior Court.
John Boutin, 46, was arrested last week after investigators said he set up a sexual liaison with someone online that he thought was a 14 year-old boy. It was actually a Farmington police officer.
The case has been continued until later this month.
Boutin's attorney said her client will plead not guilty.
He has been suspended with pay from his job as an inspector for the state Department of Transportation.
