A passer-by called to report smoke coming from three buildings along Seminole's Main Street at about 1:30 a.m., Lemmings said.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a pet grooming shop completely engulfed in flames and smoke coming from a loan office a Sherwin-Williams paint store next door, Lemmings said.
``We calculated there were thousands of gallons of lacquers and paint thinners in there, so that was a huge concern,'' Lemmings said. ``We decided that was where we need to stop the fire, and so we set up our lines accordingly.''
Lemmins said there was extensive water damage to the paint store, but they managed to keep the flames from igniting any of the flammable materials inside.
Three engines and 28 firefighters responded to the fire call, and there were no injuries, Lemmins said.
``It was right in the middle of the block, so we're excited we didn't lose a whole city block,'' he said. ``The guys did a great job.''
