FDNY Spokesman Charged in Drug Bust

February 21, 2005 -- A Fire Department spokesman was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance yesterday after being spotted snorting cocaine on a Midtown street by an undercover cop, authorities said.

Mike Loughran, 25, a civilian employee with the FDNY's press office for two years, was arrested at 222 E. 53rd St., near the Turtle Bay Tavern, sources said.

Loughran, whose late father was a firefighter, was spotted at 1:33 a.m. with a plastic bag that contained white powder, authorities said.

He did not return calls from The Post.
