Roulette, PA, Dec. 4, 2004 – Firefighters responding to a 5:50 A.M. alarm found this 2½-story residence heavily involved. An elderly man was trapped inside and died despite firefighters’ efforts to save him. His wife escaped the fire uninjured. Mutual aid assisting at the scene included volunteer firefighters and apparatus from Coudersport and Port Allegany, Roulette Ambulance and paramedics from Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. A Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal determined the cause of the fire to be a faulty extension cord under a carpet.
