A man accused of starting a fire that injured a Jessamine County firefighter is behind bars.

27 NEWSFIRST was the only station there as Jody Triplett surrendered to police.

Triplett says he's innocent of all charges.

The charge is first degree arson, stemming from a fire at the A1A storage facility on May 15th. Nicholasville Police put out a warrant for Triplett's arrest on August 2nd.

He says he didn't even know he was a suspect.

He requested 27 NEWSFIRST to be there as he turned himself over to police custody. Triplett says he's turning himself in for something he didn't do.

Triplett has been in jail several times before for charges ranging from drunken driving to drug possession.

He's now in jail on $25,000 dollars bond. An arraignment for Triplett is set for August 27-th.

It's not clear at this time if he could face additional charges... since a firefighter broke both of his legs fighting the fire.
