WILDERVILLE, Ore. (AP) -- A Josephine County man set fire to his family's home on Tuesday and then killed himself, the authorities said.
The Josephine County Assessor's Office lists Deann and Richard Richardson as the owners of the two-story home, which was destroyed.
The couple's son and daughter-in-law lived in the home, but Richardson's wife was staying with someone else, Sheriff's Lt. Lee Harman said.
Harman said Richard Richardson, 59, shot himself once and left a suicide note. Although they suspect he set the fire, officials were waiting for the State Fire Marshal's Office to confirm the cause of the fire.
Harman said Richardson's wife obtained a restraining order against him that was served on Monday.
``He was depressed about that,'' the lieutenant said. ``The family spent most of the night with him because of his depression.''
Richardson's body was found in a motor home parked near a barn on the property, police said.
