An early-morning fire has heavily damaged an apartment house on Victory Drive and sent two men to the hospital. Someone reported flames coming from an apartment at Alhambra Apartments just before 4am this morning. When police and firefighters arrived, flames were coming from the roof of one apartment house.

While firefighters worked to get water on the fire, police officers and other firefighters got two men out of the top-floor apartments. One had burns on his hands and both men were suffering from smoke inhalation. They were taken to the hospital for treatment while firefighters continued putting out the blaze.

It left the top floor of the apartment house gutted, and people in the apartments next door were evacuated. A fire investigator was called to the scene to determine the cause of that blaze.
