Hose Hits Ohio Firefighter, Pins Him Against Rig

A Toledo firefighter is recovering from injuries after being struck by a hose Saturday night and pinned against an engine, cutting and bruising his legs. Lt. Matt Hertzfeld, the fire department's public information officer, declined to give the firefighter's name, citing health confidentiality laws. The incident occurred during a fire at 1030 N. Detroit Ave. at around 7 p.m. Saturday, Lieutenant Hertzfeld said. The firefighter was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. McClatchy-Tribune News Service
