Rockland County, NY Junkyard Fire Belches Smoke Into the Sky

(Nanuet-WABC, October 9, 2003) -- A heap of charred vehicles is all that's left tonight at a Rockland County junkyard.

NewsCopter Seven was over the scene in Nanuet as the flames engulfed several cars at the Teplitz Junk Yard. Witnesses say the smoke could be seen from miles away.

Several fire crews battled the blaze that burned for about an hour. Hazmat teams were called in to investigate. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
