The Chimney Corner Trailer Park/Apt Complex, located at 8610 Jeff Davis Hwy, looked like a version of Alantis, Monday. The one-level efficency apartments were flooded, trapping residents in their dwellings, many who were elderly or handicapped.

Chesterfield Fire/EMS,Chesterfield Police and Henrico Dive & Rescue joined forces to save over 30 residents who were trapped in their apartments.

Chesterfield FD Battalion Chief Graham and Captain Kameros of Henrico Dive & Rescue co-ordinated putting into operation a quick rescue plan. With the Dive team's boats, residents were escorted out of their water filled apartments and transported to dry land.

There they were loaded onto a bus and taken to Bensley Station 3, where the Red Cross was assisting.

But the story doesn't end there. Several elderly residents needed their medications, so a detail went back to the apartments, back through the water and retrieved the needed medications.

Residents had awakened to flood waters that were even with their beds. Debris was floating and vehicles were totally submerged.

But, with the quick work of the firefighters no lives were lost.
