CHELSEA, Mass. -- A three-alarm fire in Chelsea left 16 people homeless Thursday morning.
NewsCenter 5's Pam Cross reported that firefighters said the fire that destroyed the triple-decker was fast moving, but no one was hurt.
"We did a primary search and everybody was out," Fire Deputy Chief John Dod said. "We commenced firefighting operations, with a very heavy fire condition on the second and third floor."
Dod said he did not know what caused the fire.
"I called for an investigation. At this time, I have no cause and no probable cause," he said.
Residents said the building owner bought the house less than a year ago.
