Investigators Said Cigarette Wasn't Put Out Properly
LANCASTER, Pa. -- An early morning fire in the city of Lancaster left one person homeless and several others cleaning up Wednesday.

The fire broke out shortly before 4 a.m. at 126 E. Walnut St.

Investigators said a cigarette that wasn't put out properly caused the blaze in a third story apartment.

The building contains five apartments and five residents. Everyone got out safely.

The third-floor apartment was completely destroyed. The other four apartments sustained mostly smoke and heat damage.

Damage is estimated at around $80,000.
