Jan. 11--Property loss is estimated at $1 million for a sawmill that burned down in Red Boiling Springs on Monday night.
Members of Red Boiling Springs Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the fire at 411 Carthage Road at approximately 7 p.m. according to the report filed by Red Boiling Springs Fire Chief Randy Hagan.
Firefighters arrived mere minutes after receiving the call to find the sawmill fully engulfed.
Due to the size of the fire, support was called in from the Lafayette Fire Department, Willette Volunteer Fire Department and Mt. Vernon Volunteer Fire Department to extinguish the blaze of the 10,000 square-foot sawmill belonging to Reed Bray.
With aid from these fire departments, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading.
