For the second time in 12 days, Omaha Firefighter Phil Lopez saved someone's life while he was off duty.
"I just happened to be, once again, at the right place at the right time," the 16-year veteran told KETV.
On Jan. 17 he saved Erin Byrne with the Heimlich maneuver while dinging with his family at Grandmother's Restaurant after noticing that the woman had difficulty breathing.
The woman walked away from her table chocking and Lopez followed her.
"I heard this man's voice from behind me, and he said, 'Ma'am, are you choking?'" Byrne told the news station.
Lopez said he gave the woman five good abdominal thrusts and the piece of food came out.
Close to two weeks earlier, Lopez alerted a sleeping man to a fire while he was driving home from work the morning of Jan. 9.
