Prince George's County firefighters responded to a blaze at a two-story farmhouse on Friday afternoon.

Crews responded to the 1700 block of Defiance Drive in Fort Washington around 12:15 p.m. to find fire and smoke showing, according to a department news release.

Firefighters initiated an interior attack, but encountered a large number of debris inside and a task-force bringing additional manpower to the scene was requested.

A partial floor collapse occurred at one point and all personnel were ordered out of the structure.

All firefighters were accounted for and the fire was safely extinguished from the exterior of the structure.

A department deck gun and a foam tanker from Charles County were used to battle the flames.

About 45 firefighters worked for close to two hours to put out the blaze.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
