A St. Paul's firetruck crashed in a front yard Tuesday, sending its driver to the hospital.
The wreck happened in Hollywood on S.C. Highway 152 about 10:45 a.m., St. Paul's Fire Department Chief Doc Matthews said.
The driver, the only firefighter on the truck, was responding to an alarm in the area when the truck ran off the roadway, crossed into a ditch and overturned, Charleston County sheriff's Maj. Jim Brady said.
The road was shut down while sheriff's deputies worked to clear the wreck, Brady said.
The driver suffered cuts to his hands and a contusion to his head, but Matthews said the injuries didn't appear to be life-threatening.
