The Apparatus Architects: 2009 Manufacturers Roundtable at Firehouse Expo
Apparatus Architects Tom Shand and Michael Wilbur held the third annual Apparatus Manufacturers Roundtable at the Firehouse Expo last month in Baltimore.

Listen as the manufacturers discuss the challenges brought on by the latest NFPA 1901 standard for fire apparatus, including vehicle weight, maximum speed and a variety of safety features. They share some of the feedback from customers and share their experiences based on the design process.
The panel explores the impact of future apparatus design and cost based on the stringent 2010 EPA engine emission standards that take effects in just a short time.
