OroraTech Names New CTPO to Lead the Next Era of Global Thermal Intelligence
Dr. Ignacio Zuleta has been named chief technology and product officer (CTPO) of OroraTech. As OroraTech strengthens its position as a leader in constant thermal activity monitoring, he will oversee the company's technology strategy and implementation.
Dr. Zuleta has more than ten years of expertise in the planning, implementation, and management of extensive Earth observation systems. His contributions to the development of networked satellite constellations and the conversion of unprocessed sensor data into operational intelligence that is utilized globally have been crucial. He will lead OroraTech's end-to-end technology implementation as CTPO, which will include edge data processing, real-time connection, and the deployment of temperature sensors and products.
“Earth Observation is finally entering a defining moment. Persistent, purpose-built, thermal-first systems are no longer optional if we want to understand, predict, and manage extreme events like wildfires, resource conflicts, and climate change at a planetary scale,” said Dr. Zuleta. “OroraTech is uniquely positioned to lead this transition by building dedicated thermal infrastructure for persistent observation and operational focus. As CTPO, my vision is to build the most trusted, most capable thermal intelligence platform in the world - one that turns raw measurements into real-time decisions that protect lives, land, and critical infrastructure.”
Zuleta had a significant role in the creation of the first widely dispersed Earth observation constellations, including the first daily high-resolution land monitoring mission in history, prior to joining OroraTech. With extensive expertise in instrument design, payload operations, remote sensing science, and commercial data products, he has held top technical and product leadership positions throughout the Earth observation ecosystem. He graduated from Stanford University with a doctorate in physical chemistry.
“Ignacio brings a rare depth that he will apply to our sensors, constellation operations, and product strategy,” said Dr. Martin Langer, CEO of OroraTech. “Paired with a clear vision for how thermal intelligence must evolve to meet the realities of risk faced by governments and industries across the globe, his leadership strengthens our ability to scale advanced thermal technology while staying relentlessly focused on impact for our customers.”
OroraTech provides governments and corporations throughout the world with near-real-time intelligence by running the largest network of specialized thermal sensors in the world for gathering infrared data and monitoring wildfires. The business will further solidify its position as the world's reference information layer for activity monitoring and speed up innovation throughout its thermal Earth observation capabilities under Zuleta's technical leadership.
