MEIKO USA strengthened its commitment to developing PPE decontamination solutions for fire departments and industrial applications throughout North America by appointing Bjorn Rowland as Director of Sales for MEIKO Protect USA.

With a track record of creating high-performing teams and fostering business expansion in numerous international markets, Rowland has decades of expertise as an international leader. He has held executive and presidential posts in the US, Canada, Switzerland, and Germany, among other high leadership positions throughout Europe and North America.

“I am passionate about building strong teams where diverse backgrounds and experiences come together to create something greater than the sum of its parts,” said Rowland. “At the end of the day, I believe my greatest strength is bringing out the best in people.”

Throughout his new position, Rowland will oversee the expansion and advancement of MEIKO Protect throughout the United States and Canada, assisting organizations and fire departments in putting into practice efficient PPE cleaning and decontamination procedures.

“What excites me most about joining MEIKO Protect is the opportunity to contribute to a mission that truly matters,” Rowland added. “When it comes to reducing firefighters’ exposure to carcinogens, we are still at the beginning of a very important journey. MEIKO offers a powerful solution, and I look forward to continuing to raise awareness and help departments make the investment in proper decontamination.”

Rowland is well-positioned to accelerate market acceptance and education thanks to his experience establishing and growing PPE decontamination solutions in North America.

He highlights that one of the primary issues facing the sector is still awareness.

“The importance of properly cleaning PPE after exposure to carcinogens is still not fully understood across the industry,” said Rowland. “Investing in a decontamination washer should not be viewed as optional—it should be considered essential anywhere individuals are exposed to harmful contaminants.”

With this appointment, MEIKO USA reaffirms its commitment to enhancing firefighter safety, promoting cancer prevention initiatives and providing cutting-edge cleaning and disinfection solutions by continuing to invest in the expansion of MEIKO Protect.
