The Los Angeles City Council confirmed the appointment of Kristin Crowley to be the next fire chief Tuesday.
Crowley already made history in the department when she was the first women to be named fire marshal in 2016, according to ABC7.com.
Crowley will take over for Ralph Terrazas when he retires later this month.
