On the heels of the termination of Millersville Fire Chief Brandon Head, only one firefighter remains.
The other 17 firefighters walked off the job Tuesday afternoon after the chief's firing by a newly appointed city manager, WTVF reported.
“I’ve done nothing but try to better that place since I’ve been there and honestly I’m heartbroken. I really am,” Head told reporters.
Head, who has been with the department since 2006, said he was upset that anyone would question his commitment.
The department consisted of is pay-per-call volunteers, part-timers and only a handful of full-time firefighters.
Head said it's likely mutual aid departments, Goodlettsville and White House Fire, will respond to emergencies in Millersville.
