PA Deputy Chief Dies after Suffering Heart Attack

Coal Township Deputy Fire Chief Kevin "Bubba" Malukas responded to a vehicle wreck Sunday and suffered a heart attack after he returned home.

A volunteer firefighter in central Pennsylvania died this week upon returning home from responding to a vehicle accident.

The U.S. Fire Administration announced in a release Thursday that Coal Township Deputy Chief Kevin M. "Bubba" Malukas suffered a heart attack at his home Monday after being called out to the scene of an accident the previous day.

The 59-year-old Malukas was a 45-year veteran of the fire service, according to the USFA.

According to WKOK News, Maulkas was also a longtime member of the East End Fire Company in Springfield, a Northumberland County Public Safety Director and Emergency Management Agency Coordinator.
