MT Firefighter/EMT Succumbs to COVID-19

A Montana volunteer firefighter and EMT died of COVID-19 late last month after being exposed to the virus during a medical run.

The U.S. Fire Administration on Wednesday announced the line-of-duty death of firefighter/EMT Kenneth Michael Lemanski, Jr., 37, who was a member of the Cascade Farmer Rancher City Volunteer Fire Department in Cascade.

According to USFA, Lemanski responded to an EMS call on Sept. 22 and was exposed to a COVID positive patient. The four-year fire service veteran subsequently died at a hospital on Oct. 20.
