The Royersford Fire Department and Friendship Ambulance are mourning the loss of a member who passed away from COVID-19 complications on Dec. 27.
Michael Lessar started with the Royersford Fire Department as a part-time employee in 2018 before transitioning to one of the first full-time positions within the department.
"His contributions to RFD and the Spring-Ford community included being a clinically sound practitioner and being the catalyst for many improvements within the EMS Division to increase efficiency during patient care," the department shared in a statement.
Before joining Royersford Fire Department, Lessar served in the U.S. Army and then worked for the Reading Fire Department.
