A South Bossier Fire District #2 firefighter died Saturday after sustaining injuries during fire apparatus maintenance.
Jessie Henry, 28, was injured when a tire he was working on exploded at Station 4.
Henry was struck in the head by a tire pressure sensor, his family told KSLA.com.
He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital in Shreveport where he succumbed his injuries.
"You will be so missed," the fire district posted on Facebook. "Your work here on earth is done. We will take it from here."
After serving four years in the U.S. Army, Henry joined the Army Reserves.
He was a MMA fighter and recently turned pro, his family said.
