Wellston, OK, Firefighter Dies after Medical Emergency at Brush Fire
A Wellston firefighter, critically injured Monday afternoon while battling a brush fire in Lincoln County, has died.
"My guys stepped up, aid was rendered immediately, and we got him to the ambulance quickly," Wellston Fire Chief Todd Beesley told KOCO on Monday.
Despite the care, the unidentified firefighter did not survive.
"It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of a Wellston Firefighter, whose life was lost yesterday while battling a large fire,"Lincoln County Emergency Management wrote in a Facebook post
