Photos: Two-alarm Fire Hits Detroit Vacant Building

Smoke was coming from the upper floors of the vacant apartment building when firefighters arrived.

A two-alarm fire damaged a vacant multi-family dwelling on Jan. 31.

Engines 39, 42, 40, Ladder 17, Squad 5 and Battalion 5 were dispatched to a box alarm at 2740 Fullerton at 1:05 p.m. 

Smoke was showing from the upper floors and they requested two additional companies, bringing Engines 34 and 35.

The second alarm was struck at 1:20 p.m. Engines 44, 17, Ladder 18, Ladder 7, Squad 4 and Battalion 8 responded along with Highland Park Engine 2.

Crews attacked from the fire from the exterior before moving inside to knock down hot spots.
