Managing and executing the fireground “Mayday” by commanding officers, sector officers, company officers and team leaders requires composure, self discipline and an ever changing rescue action plan that can be overwhelming. This specially unique and interesting 2-day hands-on course is designed to expose you as well as prepare you for the complexities both physically and mentally that can be experienced during an unthinkable event; a Mayday and the rescue of one of our own! The course provides realizations from experiences that have occurred to what can and should be expected regarding Rapid Intervention and Maydays. This incredible 2-day program provides applicable information and training in establishing critical points in the areas of rescue action plans, personnel safety, communications, tactical designations, accountability, multiple emergencies, crew continuity, RIT proactive behaviors, sectoring responsibilities, controlling chaos, air supply incident mitigation, equipment, searches, thermal imaging, as well as many more aspects of the actions and resources needed in rescuing a distressed firefighter. This in depth course also reveals the true realities facing rapid intervention needs and responding to Maydays for the distressed firefighter as it relates to career, combination and volunteer fire service communities on the fireground.
