An FDNY firefighter was critically injured battling a five-alarm fire that spread through several multi-family houses n the Bronx Sunday night.
Two civilians and a dozen other FDNY crew members, including an EMS provider, were transported to a hospital.
Firefighters reported the stubborn fire was difficult to extinguish. While there were motorized scooters with lithium-ion batteries present, crews have not linked them to the cause, abc 7 reported.
"They have a lot of old scooters on the porch. So maybe one of the batteries? We don't know. The fire was in the front, the whole front. They couldn't get in, the fire was in the front of it, blowing up," Zona Williams, a neighbor, told reporters.
