While a prelininary cause of a massive fire in Surf City has been determined, it won't be released just yet.
The blaze destroyed one house and two others sustained major fire and water damage while another had heat exposure issues.
“I want to thank all of our mutual aid partners for their relentless efforts in controlling this fire and minimizing damage to nearby structures. The hard work of these firefighters highlights their dedication and concern for our community. Without these committed men and women, the outcome of this event could have been different,” Fire Chief Allen Wilson told WWAY.
Two firefighters have been cleared to return to work after being treated. No civilians were hurt.
The probe of the fire will be reviewed before it's released.
